Sally Jones is an orangutan with human skills. She goes to sea with the captain. As a sailor, she possesses a skill. An accident made the captain a "murderer" and went to jail, and Sally also became "Murderer's Ape." Attracted by the music of a factory worker named Ana Molina, Sally Jones forged a new life but she was determined to prove the Chief's innocence. For this reason, she was displaced all the way to many countries and was even appointed as prime minister by the Indian Maharaja. Finally, with the help of their friends, she rescued the captain. This story chronicles the year Sally Jones spent hunting for the true killer in the early part of the 20th century.
Sally Jones’ status as neither man nor woman allows her greater freedom than other characters. The author indirectly triggers readers to think about the contradictions between human society and the good and evil of human nature.
